6.6 Personal firewall

For communication purposes, computer ports are used that govern the traffic between server and clients. A firewall can seriously hinder the performance of the program if your own computer is not seen as trusted.  This is even true for a server and a client installed on the same computer.
If you have Norton Internet Security installed as firewall, follow these steps to make your computer 'trusted'.

  1. Find the IP address of your computer
  2. Add it as 'trusted' computer. Now the firewall does not interfere with internal trafic.
  3. After starting Client.exe for the first time, the fire wall pops up. Choose the option Allow all connections on all ports. Now a connection to the Internet can be made for links within the program to this website.
